Riley is a 12-time All-American swimmer, holding 5 SEC titles while competing for the University of Kentucky.
Her life changed at the 2022 NCAA Women’s Swimming Championship when she was forced to share a locker room and compete against a biological man who had recently decided to be a “woman.” Learn more here https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cq8EvjEM0ZL/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=
This uneven challenge, not just for Riley but for every woman competing in the pool that day, was made even more traumatic when NCAA officials insisted on giving Lia Thomas the trophy, despite tying Riley down to the hundredth of a second in the event.
Riley recalls wondering why no one stood up for her or any women in the room.
