I read recently that the nations Gross Domestic Product, called "the broadest measure of the economy’s health" by many, grew by 4.1% in the last quarter of 2004, giving us our second straight quarter with a strong GDP. That trend is expected to continue through the first quarter of this year. And yet Michigan is slow to realize this growth. Perhaps it is because our Governor has been absent in leadership. She even went so far as to criticize the President for not creating a "Manufacturing Czar," when she, herself, VETOED the position for Michigan. That kind of hypocrisy will never pull us out of our job slump.
