John Kerry is running around the country talking up his plan to "cut the federal deficit in half in 4 years," and, predictably, he’s receiving lots of media attention. However, few note that OMB (the federal Office of Management and Budget) has stated that President Bushs budget will cut the deficit in half by 2006. Thats 2 years, instead of 4. If the deficit is such an important issue in job creation, as John Kerry has trumpted, then President Bushs plan is the better for the country. The discrepancy in years and numbers does beg the question, "How much more of our money does John Kerry plan to tax and spend in those first two years in order to double the length of time it will take him to pay down the deficit?"
