Mockumentary maker Michael Moore said last week on CNN that “being a proud American” means believing that Osama bin Laden “is innocent until proven guilty.” Amazing. According to Moore, the U.S. military is unjustifiably pursuing the most wanted terrorist in the world – a man who admitted to orchestrating the most vicious attack ever on American soil and who gleefully rejoiced at the deaths of more than 3,000 innocents! Moore also complained that the FBI “didn’t have a proper watch list” of the 9/11 hijackers, presumably because such a government list would have prevented those 19 murderers from attacking us. Funny, isn’t he the same Michael Moore who excoriates the Patriot Act for – get this: Keeping watch lists of those who enter the United States from certain countries. Moore’s film is little more than juvenile propaganda – not the noble call to freedom that makes America, as Lincoln said: “the last, best hope of the world.”
